ACCA

ACCA is the Annandale Christian Community for Action. It's a coalition of over two dozen churches dedicating to uniting Annandale Christians to promote and sponsor social action without regard for creed or ethnicity. ACCA's guiding principle is: "Doing what Jesus would do."

ACCA sponsors a number of social action ministries that provide services to those in need. Two of its most prominent programs are the Family Emergency Assistance ministry and the Child Development Center (CDC). The Family Emergency ministry provides a safety net by distributing to needy families money for rent and security deposits, utility bills, prescription drugs and medical care and other needs. In 2006, this ministry served over 500 families. The CDC is located in the middle of Annandale and provides day care to over 200 infants and children, along with diagnostic and follow-up services. Other ACCA ministries provide food and household necessities, furniture, transportation, Meals-on-Wheels, Rebuilding Together (Christmas in April), and the CROP Walk.

ACCA support comes from contributions from member churches, individuals, and organizations, and grants from Fairfax County, United Way, FEMA, the Washington Forrest Foundation, and Alternative Gifts International.
