Learning in Faith

New member receptions and orientations are held several times a year. In addition, classes for newcomers on what it means to be Lutheran, a shot of Bible studies, and other learning opportunities are available.

Adult Education

Sunday morning Adult Forum meets at 9:00 a.m. (September through May). These interactive sessions focus on subjects of common interest relating to religious issues, current events and ethics. These adult classes are usually held in the Lauxman House, the parish house located across the parking lot from the main church building.

Special Classes

Scheduled on a periodic basis, these classes focus on one topic and usually run from one to four sessions. Recent topics included "Raising Faithful Preschoolers," "Your Money and Your Life," learning about your Myers-Briggs type for spiritual growth and "Sacred Space - The Labyrinth."

Retreats

Generally scheduled on weekends, retreats have different purposes and activities. Retreats may feature family fun time, devotions, bike trips, contemplative prayer, Bible study, nature hikes, or trips to the National Cathedral or attendance at other events.

Christian Care-givers and Stephen Ministers

A specialized training program that equips people to help others cope with loss, grief, illness and other major life problems is offered annually.
